Ustaz Razali Nawawi

Just started my PhD programme last week. The University has imposed me with a compulsory Shariah Law class for one whole semester.

My professor is Ustaz Professor Dr Razali Nawawi. This visually impaired ustaz has got a B.A. /M.A. from the famous Al' Azhar University (read Cairo, Egypt), a PhD and string of other qualifications from God knows where. Turns out he was a radical student in the 70s, and he was the president / founder of ABIM (Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia). His protege, of sorts, was Anwar Ibrahim, who sebsequently took over the presidency.

Being a nice guy, I have made myself his pet student. I will be reading the Holy Quran and the Hadith as part of this programme. With a teacher of this calibre, I will be reformed.
